The canals of Amsterdam with the houseboats are such exceptional scenery that would be engraved in the memory for the rest of one's life. Amsterdam has everything to let you to fall in love with her.
Unfortunately, sometimes very wrongfully Amsterdam is referred to as the "Venice of the North".

Project AmsterdamAfter spending nearly thirty years in Amsterdam and every time, while going to work or to a friend with bicycle, I discovered a new gemstone in this city. It was in 2009 that I was struck by an idea of photographic documentation of whole Amsterdam, not only the hot spots but also every other hidden or less known straat, steeg, pleintje, plantsoen, … I, a citizen of Amsterdam, saw the Project Amsterdam as a personal contribution to my beloved city. The plan was to capture the city timeless as it was possible, less daily hustle and bustle.
After a period of research on how the photos have to be taken, and in what form have to be presented, and how it has to be financed, I decided to start the plan in mid-2010. Hereafter, I have taken tens of thousands of photos, and still taking, and invested thousands of hours on the preparation and production of selected photos in their final form.
Project Amsterdam will be presented in the archivally crafted and printed books, in a single edition. It means, there will be no any other editions but ONE of every book. All photos are printed in 4x6 format with Lucia pigmented ink on Hahnemühle photo rag archival heavy papers. Finally, the printed photos are bonded together in the Hahnemühle genuine leather covers and placed in the protective archival boxes.
